First time in Thailand. Sawatdeeka! Day 1
Yes hello guys, as I promised before, I want to tell about all my trips.
And now, the story to be told goes to……. Thailand.
October 9 2013, the first time I was taking my annual leave *yay!, it was a beautiful morning in Soekarno-Hatta Int’l Airport, Jakarta. In Terminal 3, with my colleague, Kak Vincy waiting for Tigerair Mandala to boarding, and yes we took morning flight, so we can spend our day in Bangkok first.
Here the story goes :
Oct 9 :
About 3 hours flight from Jakarta, it was so bored. Hahaaa. Arrived in Suvarnabhumi Int’l Airport around 12 pm, we queued for immigration. And what the fuck was that, it was very full queuing there. Like Indonesia? It’s more horrible. Haha :/ OK, continue, about 30 minutes queuing, then we went out to buy sim card. We have chosen DTAC, with 299 THB (pretty damn expensive, s#it happened) because Vincy has found out information, and that provider is most recommended. Well if you guys don’t want to spend your baht, you’d better go out. Ha!
Approximately at 13:30 we had left airport by Airport Rail Link, the cost about 45 THB (it wasn't an express one, because an express only until Makkasan Station) and we went to Phaya Thai Station. Oh it was very hot weather and we were hungry as hell, but we must continue our tight schedule to go to Wat Pho near Chao Phraya River. We took BTS Sky Train Sukhumvit Line from Phaya Thai (it's different line from Airport Link, you must have a walk about 5 mins and you'll get to BTS station). To go to Wat Pho or around its area, you can take BTS Skytrain to Siam Station then transfer to Silom line and way out at Saphan Thaksin BTS. And finally you can find a pier to Chao Phraya "cruise". Yes, sail the boat, captain!!!

We got 40 THB to "cruise" along Chao Phraya. It's an express one, I guess or it's a tour. If you use a normal ferry, its cost much cheaper. Was it kind of scam? I don't care. lol.
The Normal Ferry
We arrived at Pier N8 called Tha Tien, it's the nearest pier from Grand Palace and Wat Pho. Wat Arun? It's clearly just across the river from N8 pier. OK, we continued our journey and didn't realize that we were hungry since we haven't had lunch. And we have chosen Fried Rice and coconut. Its cost 60 THB for each food and 40 THB for fresh coconut.

After our stomach was full, we continued the journey and we were...... lost! Hahahaha. FYI guys if you want to go to Wat Po, just directly go straight after you're out from the pier. It's only across the street and voila, that's Wat Pho. Unfortunately we were lost and almost got scam that Wat Pho is closed because of ceremony and bla bla, and I can't re-arrange our trip because we have to go to Krabi this afternoon. With our optimism, We went back to near exit of pier and going to the right. And it was damn right, WE FOUND WAT PHO!!!! Finally! Hahaha. We bought ticket 100 THB and its include mineral water. Wat Pho is famous by reclining golden Buddha.
Enough for Wat Pho, we came to across Chao Phraya. With cost 3 THB we went to Wat Arun. It's not large area, but it's a high temple. We didn't come there, just took photo outside because we didn't have time and we must go to Sai Tai Mai (Southern Bus Terminal) to go to Krabi. it hasn't sunset, it became dark. We were a bit panic because no one can speak English well. Damn, it's hard in Thailand! Hahaha. We tried to use tuk tuk (Thailand's traditional vehicle) to go to terminal, but they don't know. I've been tried to ask 7-11 cashier and it's useless. He can't speak English. Well..... Finally we used taxi. I forgot how much its cost, it's below 150 THB as I remembered.
Tadaaa, welcome to the Sai Tai Mai! Finally we reached out this terminal and once again, we don't know where to buy bus ticket to Krabi. It's only to short distance destination like Pattaya and else. After we were asking like and information, we must go up to the 2nd level of the building which I knew it's like department store but it has happened! There were ticket booths every company bus. Well, Thailand... Hahaha.
We bought ticket to Krabi was about 691 THB. Reclining seat, and you will get blanket, snack, juice, and breakfast (only bread). It's double-deck bus and it's quite comfy for our next 12 hours journey!
Bon voyage!
*will be continue on the next post* ;)
