I thought I would share incase someone stumbles upon this a needs to see a similar message due to going through a time of possible loss or illness with a loved one. Maybe it will resonate with them as well.
A friend saw my tarot cards and asked if I could do a reading for her. She wanted to know how much time her dog has left. I explained that for tarot is more about energy. It’s more a guide for my intuition than a predictor of the future. That for me the cards are a tool for interpreting present emotional needs and quality of life, rather than a definitive predictor of lifespan.
I could ask things like What are the dog’s current needs? How can you best support your dog? What gift has this dog brought into your life?
The messages I received is.
Her dog is carrying a heavy burden right now. Whether that’s age, illness, pain, fatigue, or simply the weight of a long life, this card suggests things are becoming harder than they once were. Her pup needs may be for relief, gentleness, comfort, and less expectation. Not necessarily “give up,” but “help me carry what’s become too heavy.” It’s time for you to be strong for her because she’s been strong for you.
It’s time to let go, not hold on and fight so she stays around for you, but rather do what is best for her. You have to meet her where she is now. You have to accept that she won’t be the same, this may or not be the end. But she won’t be the dog you knew and it’s time to accept that. It’s time to walk along the uncertainty of what is to come and not fight the reality of what’s going on.
Luna has brought Unconditional love, companionship, emotional healing, loyalty, tenderness. The kind of relationship that opens the heart. I think she may have taught you how to give and receive love in a very pure way.
I pulled a 4th card to see if something could tell me more about how much time she has left. And the message given is
“Don’t spend today’s love trying to solve tomorrow’s grief.”
Stay present. Hold your dog. Treasure the time that exists rather than clinging to certainty about how much time remains.
As for timing, I don’t really see a timeline here. If anything, the cards seem to redirect away from prediction and toward presence. The reading feels less like “the end is imminent” and more like:
“Your dog is tired. Your dog needs comfort. This relationship has been deeply loving. Don’t let fear of loss steal the time you still have together.”
Honestly this ⬆️ is the same message all 4 cards are really saying to me.
