Inferiority complex & the lack of self-esteem. - Something I struggled with all my life. - It always seemed that the people around me were doing better & achieving more. - But then I finally learnt that we shouldn’t compare our timing with someone else’s. - We’ve got to embrace our own journey, grow at our own pace, & stop living a life waiting for people to validate us. - We shouldn’t shortchange our destiny by living according to society’s standards of being “beautiful” or “perfect”. - Instead, develop confidence by: 1. knowing who we are to the people significant to us 2. Putting extra effort into the things that scare us 3. Basically just stop thinking about ourselves, and start putting others first. - If you think about it: The lack of confidence is just an exaggerated fear of rejection or failure; the desire for acceptance. - Once I started to focus on others rather than myself, & to have an outlook of gratitude, my life began to change. - #HannahTan #Introvertinanextrovertedworld #MakingTheDifference - Shot by @rhysdury (at Asia/Kuala_Lumpur)
