Meant to be going to a society in 5 minutes but really don't want to but kinda have to cause I bought membership and haven't been for three weeks...
You know what really grinds my gears
I hate that it seems like everything in society is geared towards people who are extroverts, who like being in crowds and around people and noises and loud music and drinking and woooo party etc etc.
I am an introvert, dammit. And I like being by myself. I like reading and watching movies alone. I like silence. I like thinking (for the most part). I don't like being around people for too long or I start to feel vaguely like I'm suffocating.
I just ran into my cousin, who's the epitome of the extrovert archetype - he's best friends with a DJ, and as far as I can tell he goes out into town every single weekend, and some weeknights as well. And I hate that he made me feel small and stupid for not having huge partying plans tonight. I hate that I feel pressure to be like him and be the life of the party. I hate that I constantly feel like I need to justify who I am and what I like doing to everyone.
"No, I didn't do much this weekend, and that's the way I like it."
For fuck's sake.
