Thinking about the we-are-the-trollhunters thing again and I think with Gogun the Gentle being my TrollHunter mentor, I can see him being Tara Brynâs mentor. With her having my previously prodigious climbing skills, I can see her climbing up to where his statue is (if itâs in the forge) and just sitting next to it whenever sheâs having a bad timeâ especially when she makes mistakes that send her spiraling into the âIâm not cut out for this! Nothing I do matters, and when it does I fail! I donât want to do anything if it wonât matter in the end!!!â (Which is something I do a lot)
I think like with her, heâd be the one to coax me out of that when I hit my spirals with something like, âEverything you do affects things. Everything-whether itâs your action or inactionâ every choice made matters and will affect your future and others. But you must ask yourself: will your actions bring you greater regret than your inaction? Or will let yourself suffer under the weight of your guilt for not acting when you couldâve or shouldâve?â
Then weâd both probably repeat a phrase my seminary teacher taught me. âFor all sad words of tongue and pen, The saddest are these, 'It might have been'.â Shortened to âThe saddest words of tongue or pen are these four words, it might have been.â
Sorry if this is a bit jumbled. Iâm not used to self inserts so I try to keep some amount of distance between me and them. ><;;
