Norwood isn't as cool as it was a decade (or two) ago, and Grant Avenue has become decidedly gritty. But Norwood and the surrounding suburbs remain fascinating - a fact I hope to expose on this blog. Follow my posts to discover that the area:

Is the birthplace of Satyagraha;

Is rich in the history of the anti-apartheid movement;

Holds much architectural interest and beauty;

Has a cosmopolitan atmosphere unmatched in Johannesburg's northern suburbs;

Has underrated parks and suburban walks; and

Still has some of Joburg's best places to eat, drink and shop.
