First things first, the music! :D THE MUSIC. You may think what you think, but I will not take any hate about that, the music is fire, every single song, yes even Big Boss, yes even Long Face which the show itself is happy to make fun of. Many of them I did, do, and will play on repeat, and Sam Reid sings so well, and that's just the truth. (Hit the lights and Stained glass eyes are beautifully sorrowful, When I call out your name is full of desperation and anguish, Why do I have to feel makes me wonder why I have to feel, Brutal love is wonderful, Black Licorice is odd and fun! and I probably shouldn't talk about every single one... oh well xD) The costuming is also woderful, they all look so good, yes yes I am superficial, whatever, Armand's half up half down hair and Lestat in sparkly make up do that to a person :D

The editting, having calmed down significantly after drug trip episode 1, was still sometimes chaotic, but to be fair it make sense, memories rarely come in perfect story telling. One of my main issues/wishes? (which again likely comes from having read the books) is that I wish we spent a little more time on the past (namely Nicki and Armand), cuz what we had was great but ajsgdjkadhsk it's not like I hate the band or other of the rockstar timeline stuff... really had we had an episode or two more-

Aaaanyway. Maybe it will be easier to go episode by episode? It'll bleed into eachother anyway. Ep 1, Detroit, as I said, a drug trip mess and jarring as fuck, which is very much what opening up the TVL book feels like. I loved Lestat's and Daniel's dynamic here (and later during the documentary stuff too), Louis was working through his past, with a few faulty memories, and a few things that he tried to hide that Daniel had to dig out, whereas Lestat genuienly feels like he half doesn't even want to do this and is going for a answer to the book and explanation of himself, but keeping most of the stuff inside, which, again, is seen more later. And then Gabriella comes. And she's a chapter for herself, really.

Ep 2, Toledo, we get some of Lestat's past in Auvergne and while I was hoping for a little bit more wolves (which, I have since realised, would've likely not looked the best anyways) I think that part of his life was sufficiently covered? The main thing, besides the wolves, being the Witches' place and we do get that later so yeap. In rockstar, Lestat and Louis arguing and bitching oh my Loustat heart, and then Lestat serenading Louis so prettily... And even scraps of Danlou too, or like, just the two of them over dinner.... And Daniel's "all the world disappears and only he stays" about Armand hehehe

Ep 3, Toronto. That one was really really good. There's some more of the Daniel and Lestat fight, culminating with the recording fakeout near the end. We're at the crux with Nicholas because I love I love what we got they were so wonderful together, and then him slowly but surely falling into madness and grief! Joseph Potter acted his absolute ass off, and Nicki's death, however prepared for it I was, left me so sad. Armand... well, we'll have a section for him alone. And then Magnus and aksdgkjagd I actually really like (although the music video with him kinda took me out lmao) that Lestat was so against telling it how it really was, blaming himself for "seducing" Magnus and how he was only his fan- Because Lestat isn't willing to see abuse for what it is, it's sort of a thing this season I feel, and he would rather say "Hey it's kinda my fault also it wasn't that bad" than admit this not only to others but also himself. But then you get the car scene and yea. It's still haunting him and the bits of the past you get there, where he's clearly beaten and assaulted are every bit as harrowing as the story deserves. And Louis in this episode with Bruce- akjsgdkajgsdjgd Fucking hell. The killing of the coven and letting Bruce burn and I think it's good! Let him! But goddamit, it's sad to see Louis trying to... idk avenge Claudia now when it doesn't help her, nothing can help her. And reading the diary- yea. He wanted to help himself from grief and guilt I guess? It's for himself at least as much as for her, and he's helping noone
