Yes, I’m pretty open about a lot of things on here. Why is that? Simple. I don’t feel like any of these things are things to be ashamed of. My body, my past, bad things that have happened to me, my mental illnesses, my chronic illnesses, my journey to self love, meds, dealing with past trauma or self harm, etc. etc. Yeah, it’s not necessarily pleasant, but it’s nothing I need to or feel I should hide or be ashamed of. Especially if my experiences and so on can help other people who are struggling, I’m good with it. It would be great if mental and invisible physical illnesses were less stigmatized. I don’t really mean to draw attention to them or anything. I’m not putting up a neon sign about it, but I think it’s fine to mention it when explaining why I don’t like some things (like dark colors). Of course, I’m not obligated to share those things, and neither are you if you deal with them. You could just say you don’t like something if you want, but you are and I am also not obligated to keep quiet about these things. They. Are. Not. Shameful. And we’re not wrong to talk about or mention them.
