New York Mets vs. New York Yankees 5/22/11
An old high school friend had 4 tickets in section 206 for Sunday afternoon's interleague battle between the New York Mets and the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium and he invited me, along with his junior high school buddy and his uncle.
With the Mets having a lead going into the 7th inning, I was beginning to wonder if I had some kind of new Yankee Stadium jinx. For some reason I've had the kind of luck where the Yanks have managed to lose almost every game I've attended at the new Stadium -- including those two awful playoff loses to the Texas Rangers during last season's ALCS. But an 8 run rally fueled by Mike Pelfrey, being -- well Mike Pelfrey, along with a fielding and a couple of seeing eye singles, helped the team score 8 in an inning where 13 men came up to bat. Final score: Yanks 9 Mets 3. A great way to start the week, for sure.

Derek Jeter running to first after a big time hit which tied the game at 3.
New York's two great shortstops -- well soon to be one great shortstop because everyone is almost assured that Jose Reyes will get traded.

The Yankees win! Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees win!
