SAGMEISTER AND BRAND NEW SCHOOL ENERGIZE EDP | PORTUGAL

The goal of the edp commercial is to introduce the new modular identity for edp created by Sagmeister, Inc. The new identity is built using four fundamental shapes: a circle, half circle, square and triangle. These four shapes were combined and layered to build dozens of unique edp logomarks. This same graphic system was used to build hundreds of illustrations within the same visual language. Sagmeister worked with Brand New School to transform these logos and illustrations into a commercial introducing the new edp identity while touching upon edp's impressive facts relating to renewable energy.

Sagmeister has recently created and introduced a strikingly fresh brand identity for EDP. To help introduce it throughout Portugal and beyond, Sagmeister teamed with BNS to develop an animated storyline using the brand new illustrative visual language. The resulting :60 commercial debuted last week on broadcast and cable television in Lisbon, Portugal, and along with many shorter versions, it is set to continue airing widely across the country and Europe for many weeks to come.
