She had long since changed out of her stuffy day outfit, relieved to don a comfortable pair of sweatpants as she flopped onto the couch beside her best friend with a bottle of wine and two glasses, easily making herself at home in the house she was currently sharing with the other. “Care to help me finish off this bottle of fancy shmancy wine I stole from Gabriel’s wine cellar before I left?” She was pretty sure it would have cost more than her entire closet and had no clue if the man had noticed it missing, but didn’t want to waste any time in finding out before drinking the evidence. “Besides, I wanna hear all about your day, babe.”

There was a lot of things Cora loved about Viv. Even in the short amount of time she’d been in town, they’d grown to know each other in a variety of ways, though the majority of those ways mostly included getting drunk and subsequently making out because why not, the rest of the ways told her that the woman was a ton of fun and loyal to boot, everything Cora liked in a person. She’d heard about the secret rave happening in Bighorn Hills, a neighborhood just a few days ago she’d mentioned to her brother as being nothing more than an abandoned old west town, but on her journey to be new and improved... and the fact that she was freshly out of the slammer for drug-related charges, she figured it was best if she stayed away. But when she got a text from Viv, asking her to pick her up, there was no way she could say no. So, half an hour later, Cora rolled up in the new BMW that Gabriel had purchased for her, heated seats already warmed to go as she put it in park and sent a text that the rescue chariot had arrived. When her friend showed up, mere minutes later, she was already rolling her eyes with a grin on her lips. “’bout time you showed up, I was just about to ditch you and let your messy ass walk back to the city.”

“If this isn’t the literal cutest art I’ve ever seen,” Cora mused, approaching the booth her best friend had set up, lined with the gorgeous artwork that the other had made. “I honestly can’t believe you’re able to make all this with just your two little hands. Well, actually scratch that, because I do know how magical those things happen to be.” She sighed wistfully, a teasing glint in her eyes as she leaned against the only table without artwork. Now lacking the funds to actually pay for anything she’d potentially break after having left Gabriel in the dust, she was more cautious of just how reckless her actions could be. “How’s business today, babe?”
