Interaction Boundaries
Hi, besties. I never thought I’d have to do this, but I thought that I’d list my boundaries when it comes to follower/anon interactions through messages and asks.
Here are my interaction boundaries:
No racism, sexism, homophobia, actually any negatives against the LGBTQ+ community at all
No threatening self harm
No super-graphic sexual themes (if we’re not friends already or just met - it’s just uncomfortable. If we are friends, it’s different)
No lying, manipulation, and/or gaslighting
No using myself and/or my blog as a self-promotion tool
As you can see, I truly don’t have many, but I’m pretty heavy-handed when it comes to blocking for crossing them. I do give fair warning, however, before I do it. I’m also all for second chances. Though, if you do not respect my boundaries after repeated reminders, I will block you without hesitation. Once blocked, please do not create more accounts to interact with me, I am done.
When it comes to anon hate, and negative interactions, I will not post them. Go look for attention somewhere else.
At the end of the day, I’m an adult, and I reserve the right to have my boundaries met and respected. Just as you do, and I hope to never cross any of your boundaries either. However, if I do, please know that I will apologize and hold myself accountable. As again, I am an adult who believes that respect works both ways.
Have a great day!
Our boundaries:
Any members of hate groups, all different types of exclusionists/REGs, and unapologetic bigots should not interact and will be blocked on sight.
Anyone who glorifies self-harm (or posts things that would reasonably be considered glorifying self-harm despite their blog having a disclaimer) will be blocked and reported on sight.
Anyone who invalidates our experiences or pressures us into revealing personal information in order to prove we are really <insert marginalized identity here> will be blocked.
Anyone who participates in cringe culture will be blocked.
We do not tolerate anyone deliberately twisting our words. If we see someone doing that, we will clarify our post, and if they continue, we will block them.
We will block anyone tone-policing (i.e. telling us that we sound too angry, or attacking our collective character or that of an individual headmate based on us being angry).
Concern trolls will be blocked.
Victim blamers will also be blocked.
While we are open to being called out and hurting people on accident is the last thing we want to end up doing, don’t assume that we will automatically read your mind when being called out. We would rather that people give at least a short explanation of what we did wrong. If there is no explanation and a Google search doesn’t help us understand, we will ask for one. This is so that we can better understand what mistakes to avoid in the future, clear up any miscommunication, and to make sure we are not being called out in bad faith. If you respond with personal attacks when we ask for a short explanation and after explaining a Google search didn’t help us, we will block you. If a call-out directed toward us is obviously false or absurd, we may block without even responding. If you want to hide your true intentions behind your call out, don’t bother.
If we suspect we are being trolled or that you are emotionally manipulating us, we will block you.
We may also block people who do the things listed above to other people.
All of this is for our own and others’ safety.
