miss you already.
Aurora stared down at her phone, the words Kade had sent her a few hours ago. At the time the text had come through, she was still in panic mode, stuck between calling her manager now and finding out what this was all about, and being too scared to make that leap without Kade there to comfort her. Now, several hours after the text had been sent, it felt too late to respond, even though she felt the same way. It was odd, how empty she had immediately felt upon leaving Kade's hotel room, how accustomed to his presence she had become. She knew it wasn't normal, that she needed him the way she did, but she didn't really know what she could do about it now.
She uncrosses and recrosses her legs nervously, shifting in her seat in the lobby of her agent's office. Granted, she was a few minutes early, but the longer time ticked by, the more nervous she became. She had started to seriously consider the idea that Kade wouldn't show before she had even stepped into the building, but now the weight of the possibility was crushing down on her, forcing her to accept the likelihood. If he didn't show...it was probably best to end the whole thing, anyway. The PR relationship, along with whatever real relationship they could have had. It would be better that way. But it wouldn't make it hurt any less.
Aurora finally looked away from her phone screen, eyes traveling up to the front door again, as she wound a long strand of red hair around her finger.
