B12 - "Scriptures" Artificial Intelligence II 1994 Ambient Techno / Intelligent Techno
Good morning 🌅. Here's a sweet, sweet ambient techno tune from UK duo B12 that was released on Warp Records' Artificial Intelligence II compilation back in 1994. This would be a terrifically layered IDM track without its four-on-the-floor kick drum, but once that thing starts to pound at around the 3:10 mark, that's when this track just proceeds to reach a different plane 😌.

Freeform - “Gapedo” Further East-Westercisms 1998
I don’t know what planet Freeform is from. It’s certainly not Earth. His bio says he’s from London, but I find that very hard to believe.
I love posting this man’s music. He manages to create such abstract IDM journeys. He’ll lay down a very unorthodox rhythm as his foundation (in this case some kick drums), and just build layer upon layer on top of it. Then he’ll play with the complexity, stripping it down, introducing some new sound, then drop that sound out and increase the complexity again. It’s seriously like a film broken up in to different scenes and acts.
These tracks have so much replayability. No one can digest something like this in just a few listens. You listen to this once and then you’ll be listening to it for years. It’s such a wild ride.
Check out my other Freeform posts for more from this incredibly talented musician.
