“Fancy seein’ you here.”

He stretched in his chair, feeling somewhat smugger every time Ryan came into his office. His office which Ryan had so graciously given him, and had no chance of taking back no matter how much the Great Man started to regret it.

Sure, having Ryan snooping around made him anxious. But every time he came out smelling like roses, that gave Ryan one less reason to doubt him. Fontaine was an honest man. Honest as he figured men can be. Doubting him was just a waste of time.

He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been anywhere this ritzy. Even by Rapture standards, Ryan’s office in Hephaestus was the most intricate and intimidating thing he could imagine. His footsteps echoed through the halls, the ceiling reached far above him, and here he was, one small man on the cusp of proper adulthood, doing something that was either going to get him killed, rich, or... neither, which he considered the worst of the options.

It took a long time for Sofa & I to actually start RPing together, but I’ve admired her from a far forever. It’s partly because I don’t think I’ve ever met someone with such an earnest love for the BioShock series. I mean, I know everyone in this community adores the games beyond words, but Sofa lives & breathes it like you wouldn’t believe. As a roleplayer, I feel like it’s easy to get caught up in your own headcanons & ideas–so much so that you forget why you even enjoyed the universe in the first place. Sofa is my reminder. On days where I’m ready to abandon my blogs or give in to my own insecurities, she exemplifies what this series–and this community–actually means to me. 

When her father gets home, Jackie stares up at him with tired eyes.  “You’re home early,” she says.  Gives him the obligatory peck on the cheek that she knows that he expects.  Lately, they’ve been fighting all the time, and Jackie doesn’t know why.  First, he liked it that she worked.  Now he hates it.  She doesn’t know what’s wrong with him that he’s so fucking angry.  She’s been coming home with grease all over her apron, grease on her hands, a wrench and a tool belt on her hip.  Just to see if he’ll notice.  Usually, she cleans herself up real good before she gets home from work; she didn’t actually get hired as a salesgirl for Fontaine’s Department Store, home to the Ryan Family’s Greatest Enemy.

She’s the mechanic and repairwoman who handles fixing their gadgets and pipes and shit like that for Fontaine’s when they break.  That was what she got hired for in the first place.  But salesgirl was respectable, and mechanic isn’t a respectable job for the Heir of Rapture.  Not like she’s a good heir.  She was born a girl.
