Movie Date // Bentley & Davin
[Dated for Tuesday, June 26th]
With the auction weekend coming and going and things winding down at the apartments, Bentley was pleased with how things went. The charity raised more money then she expected, press about her being back in town as well as her announcement of her musical was very kind and she won a date with a boy that caught her attention from the moment she had met him. Getting a date with Davin was something she didn’t expect after hearing just how much people were betting at the gala. Of course normally she wouldn’t drop the amount of money she would have, but with her time away from the apartments and Denver, she came in to money after winning a TV show and figured it was best so put some of that money to charity since she never expected to win it in the first place. It was all about paying it forward when it came to Bentley. Though she was excited she won, it dawned on her that she actually had to plan the date and now that was a different story.
Dates and Bentley never really mixed well. She went on a few but she never walked away with a happy ending--it was more along the lines of awkward conversation and something to add into her stories to pull from when she was doing stand-up. Now having to plan the date, she was at a loss and the only idea coming to her mind was the most cliche of them all: the movies. Though she knew that she was going to do a movie related date, she didn’t want to do the typical way of going to an overpriced movie where hormonal teenagers ran rampant. After gathering some ideas, Bentley found the perfect one and settled with an outdoor movie night. It was simple and sweet, but she often found out that sometimes the simple things are the best things. Once her idea was set in stone, she wrote a small note and stuck it inside his mailbox for him to get and pencil into his schedule.
When the day arrived, she was a little excited but she didn’t want to get overly excited with her hopes up high only for things to fall in her face, like the history she’s known. While Cope helped her make little snacks for the night before he ended up getting distracted by a game or something on in the other room, Bentley planned everything out and double checked her list before she put her plan into motion. With Cope spending some time with one of her friends, per to Cope’s request, Bentley started down to the patio and pool area to get things set up. She first started with the white extra sheet she had in her apartment and strung it up between the two trees before setting out some cushions she had taken off the lounge chairs near the pool as well as some pillows and blankets she had from her apartment. The projector she had was one she made off of pintrest that actually worked and placed it on an end table with her phone inside and the Netflix welcome screen already on the white sheet. Placing out some of the food and drinks on the small end tables she had with her as well as some candles and thrifty lanterns she made a cute little set up. With everything set into place, Bentley waited a little nervously for Davin to arrive, hoping that tonight went smoothly.
