If you're wondering whether you should draw or write for a career
Try this little experiment. When you create something, don't post it immediately. For a while, pretend that you're that kid who just found out doing this thing was cool and challenging and fulfilling. Pretend you're that beginner who has none of the pride or courage to show anyone your progress.
When your work is compensated, strange things happen. One, you observe how your efforts are rewarded and begin thinking that those rewards are the primary motivation why you do what you do. Or two, you begin to feel disappointed and lazy when those rewards don't immediately come, because you're used to their coming. These rewards could be commission payments, or even number of likes and reblogs.
You can be paid for your passion, but don't let your passion be bought out, with money or anything else.
