Minute 1: Grounding 🌍 Look around and name 5 things you see, 4 things you feel, 3 things you hear, 2 things you smell, 1 thing you taste. This pulls you back into the present.
Minute 2: Breathing 🌬️ Practice box breathing — inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4. It slows your nervous system.
Minute 3: Movement 🚶 Shake out your hands, stretch your arms, or take a few steps. Anxiety gets stuck in the body — movement releases it.
Minute 4: Self-Talk 💬 Say to yourself: “This is anxiety. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s not dangerous. It will pass.”
Minute 5: Calm Focus 🕯️ Pick one simple, soothing focus: listen to a calming song, hold a soft object, or sip water slowly. Anchor your mind to peace.
Why It Works
This plan combines grounding, breath, movement, and self-reassurance — hitting anxiety from multiple angles at once. It gives your brain and body a reset button.
