Microsoft Installfest 2011 @ BaliuagU Poster
Libertando computadores e tablets

IT Congress Afternoon Sessions
After the seminar at the Valencia Hall, guests and officers headed straight to IT9 to eat. Ahh! Massita! <3
After which, the facilitators for the laboratory sessions proceeded to the computer labs.Â
To sum it up, there were 5 computer rooms filled with 20 participants each. Each session concentrated on one unique topic and were on to hands-on activities. That afternoon was so productive for those who registered for they have learned another stuff which isn't covered by our curriculum yet. The person who's the most active & topped the session was awarded by a Microsoft I ♥ Windows Phone 7 shirt. It was really a fun way of learning!
Topics covered and facilitators are as follows:
• VB.Net by MSPs Karla Recalde & Emil Peralta
• C# by MSP Robert Casanova
• HTML5 by MSP Rudolf Antonio
• XNA Game Studio by MSP Paul Laiz
• Expression Studio 4 by MSP Martin Laureta
After the sessions, we ate again and played Monopoly. I am glad to learn how to play the cards version of that, haha. I feel more human now. :))Â
Though there are still flaws regarding the event I will still rate it as A! Not bad for us first timers hihihi. We'll definitely strive hard for an A++ next year <3
I really wanted to thank all those who participated on that event and let's learn again next year! Thanks to SWITS officers for this event, for managing the freebies, resources and venues. For Cursor Pub Staff, thanks for the help! For the promotional video & help while the event is going on especially to Sune & my kanto boys *special mentions ;)* for dropping by while I am installing at the laboratory rooms until 3AM hooray! For my Co-MSPs, thanks for the hard work hihihi, those negotiations we've made aahhh! Hahaha. For those who made their promises, our guest speakers, ILU for real :-* those certificates and tokens we've given you won't express how much we thank you, really! For our mama boss, Miss Mellie Valiemento if ever you're reading this or maybe not thanks for all the support and help ♥++. And lastly, for Microsoft Philippines! Thanks for having this kind of event on every school :) You're heaven-sent!
Let's see each other again maybe this Feb or what ;) I'm excited! <3 <3 <3

IT Congress Plenary Hall
...
Last December, Society for the Welfare of Information Technology in partnership with Microsoft Student Partners conducted IT Congress x Installfest at our campus, Bulacan State University. The event took place at Valencia Hall and accommodated about 1000 BSIT students & teaching personnel.Â
Cosplayers greeted guests and students at the entrance.
The event started about 9 in the morning, my co-MSP Angelbert was the master of the ceremony.
Bea Orozco led the opening prayer while Shenn Celon sang the national anthem.
Various heads gave their opening remarks: Ma'am Raquel Adriano, the department head of BSIT, Ms. Aiza Garcia, the faculty adviser of SWITS and Mr. Jaime Pulumbarit, our assistant dean. They told us how we should be grateful for having Microsoft Student Partners all the way here to Bulacan just to impart us their knowledge about the latest Microsoft technologies and how we must be like them in the future.
I would like to be detailed on what happen and what are the main points of the talks given by our co-rockstars but sadly something came up while the seminar is going on, there have been technical difficulties on our building that's why I had to leave the hall but then I can still tell you about the rest because I did the invites and slides for the programme and can still show you what took place by pictures shot by my brother dear! *Hello there onii-san if you're blog hopping here!*
Students were all eyes and all ears on MSP Kuya Eufer Pasion as he talked about the topic, Netiquette. I'm pretty sure that my schoolmates learned more on how to behave as netizens and like what we always say, think before you click.
Next speaker was MSP Ate Gigi Adamantopoulos, she wowed the faculty of Information Technology when she presented Windows 8 Developer Preview. The gist of Windows 8 conveyed to the students through her slides and her delivery of information. Â
Then, MSP Kuya Rudolf Antonio introduced HTML5 to the audience. He gave an overview of HTML5's new features and stuff. If I was there I would love to see his slides too, since we, the third year students already had our Web Development class we are already aware how to deal with CSS, javascript and html tags plus! a new learning would be fun to update my sites! Â
MSP Kuya Patrick Torres discussed the powers of Windows Live. At last! I really wanted to convince my blockmates to use their live accounts *since I already convinced them to make one* because it's just too great even the idea of me being a Microsoft Student Partner aside. It's convenience and portability is way too perfect!Â
MSP Kuya Cesar Cuaresma didn't make it that day because he was sick *glad that it wasn't severe* so MSP Kuya Rudolf & MSP Ate Gigi decided to present his topic since they have their own slides about it too & MSPs are just amazing like zat!  Â
MSP Kuya Eufer & MSP Ate Gigi discussed Microsoft in Education and Windows Phone 7 respectively.Â
And oh! I forgot raffle was conducted between every talk. Prizes such as Microsoft Techie Keypress Lights, Microsoft Recycle Bins, 10 pieces of 4GB flashdrives and Cherry Mobile phones *I can no longer remember how many* were given to lucky students!Â
Students were also entertained while playing Kinect Adventure on Xbox + Kinect brought by MsPhil AcadTeam.
Lastly, certificates were awarded to Microsoft Student Partners who gave talks that morning!
A total of 11,401 software installers noted by us, Bulacan State U's MSPs were distributed to the students of CICT.
All in all, the event was successful and students went home jam-packed with information and enjoyment <3

Just another Wednesday
It’s around 7:30 in the evening right now. I felt that my feet were kinda hurt so I decided to stay for a while at everyone’s third place to rest a bit.
I was at Adamson University this afternoon. I’d joined the other MSPs for their installfest. I went there pretty late so only the talks of Kuya Robi, Kuya Paul & Ate Gigi were the ones I heard. Kuya Robi shared his schoolmates the awesomeness of Silverlight, Ate Gigi gave them a peak on what Windows 8 has to offer then left because she has an important matter to attend while Kuya Paul amazed them on how to create 2D and 3D games using XNA and Maya.
I have seen how Windows 8 Developer Preview runs on the laptops already but I haven’t tried them on mine yet. I believe Windows 8 will look very cool so I can no longer wait for its official release. At some point, I want to have W8DP now on my pc!
Kuya Paul also showed us the Wildfire game created by other MSPs and their colleagues. It was their winning entry to the recent Imagine Cup Competition and I’d like to grab a copy of that game but I was too shy to ask. #epicfail
Adamson also had raffle draws conducted wherein students had the chance to win Microsoft freebies. Everyone was rooting for the Microsoft Partner Network t-shirt even us MSPs would like to have that. Lol. At the end, a girl named oops! I forgot the name.. won the shirt. How lucky of her!
After the event, I, Camille, Ate Carla, Kuya Paul, Kuya Daryl, Kuya Rudolf, Kuya Kurt, Kuya Ely, Kuya Martin and our boss Miss Mellie left the university and parted ways as we go home? Maybe. While MSPs from Adamson stayed for their org meeting. Camille and I walked to U.N. Avenue LRT station whereas the rest rode fx.
I was hungry, literally starving so I decided to drop by at Trinoma. I ate at KFC, intake medicine and had iced coffee. I am getting used to being alone now unlike before that I would rather starve to death than to eat alone. And I am being emotional now when I am hungry, what’s happening?!
It’s getting late and I think I should get going. I’ll publish this after the other entry. Ja’ne!
……
P.S.
My lovelies,
This is another late blog post. It is supposed to be for yesterday. I am so sorry for not being punctual :|
