Drabble for Day 2 (100 words)
Nolofinwë comes to meet him across the lake one morning. Makalaurë falls silent after greetings, waiting. He has wanted to meet his uncle in the throne room, but now it feels stupid; the throne is empty, and neither of them mentions it.
Until.
“Findekáno is gone. I’m afraid that he has gone to the Iron Prison. He has been speaking of going to look for him.”
“Then we have lost him, too.”
Makalaurë wants to offer his condolences, but his mouth is too dry to speak. To do something, he wipes the dust from the throne seat with his hand.
