“ it’s cute that you’re trying to pick out girls for me, ” sara leans over and drops her hand on poe’s shoulder in a more buddy-buddy show of appreciation. while taking someone home for the night would be nice, she’s really just enjoying spending time with something who isn’t trying to ruin her dating life. namely her entire merry band of misfits. “ she’s both hot and looks like me, though. so you’re getting warmer. ” sara spins on her bar stool and waves at the bartender, nudging poe with her shoulder. “ wanna get wasted and dance with people whose names we don’t know? ”

        With his head cocked to the side,  Grog stared down at the other in confusion.  He had thought it was clear.  Fighting was in his blood,  it was for sport and fun on his home planet.  Fighting for a cause,  even one as noble as the Rebellion,  was not what his people did.  That was what made Grog unique compared to the barbarians that raised him.  He found a reason to fight,  he found someone to fight for.  Poe should have already known that because Grog was not shy about his reasons for fighting.  “ Why are you sorry? ”  he asked, genuinely confused.  As tempting as it was to drag Poe back into arms reach,  he let the other move away to clear his head.

Arms folded over his chest as he shifted from one foot to the other.  “  I wanted to fight for you. ”  He states it as though it should be simple because,  to him,  it is that simple.  Of course he had a choice,  he had never been forced into something he didn’t want to do.  “  Poe... you’ve seen the size of me? ”  he asks.  “ Does it look like you can force me to do anything I don’t want to? ”

          since coming out of low power mode, artoo has had little time to appraise this new rebellion. now that things are finally settling down on the base, he has a chance to get himself acquainted with this generation’s band of freedom fighters, and he makes it a point to seek out one pilot in particular.  an excited beep - [ you are the companion of the beebee unit ]  rolling forward, the astromech leans himself backwards so as to point his lens at the human.  a softer series of beeps, a quiet whistle - [ you helped obtain the map to retrieve my companion. thank you. ]
