The Semicolon Project: is something that I've wanted to be a part of for a long time. Someone very close to me suffered from depression and it got to a point where we wasn't too sure if she was going to make it through or not. It took a toll on everyone who was close to her, but we stood together and pulled them through it step by step. I am so proud to say that she did make it to the other side and now living their life stronger and more determined than ever. It won't ever go, but the fact that they never gave up is what inspired me to get a tattoo to represent that she's a warrior in my eyes, and showing that her story is not over... As a @u_report_global Ambassador, Zainab has been at the forefront of the #YourVoiceYourFuture campaign by the European Union, African Union and @Unicef, which gathered the views of 450,000 young people across the 2 continents. . “I think many people want to change the world. I always tell people ‘Yes you can! You can change the world!’ You don’t have to be a president to change the world,” she says. “In my immediate environment, I try to make sure that I leave a lasting impact on whatever situation I find myself in. I try to encourage and guide people – especially younger girls. I try to lead by example and show them that they are capable of achieving whatever they work towards.” . Her motto in life? Simple: "Don’t lose. I interpret it as resilience. Whatever situation I find myself in, I refuse to accept the loser status. I’ve either won or I’ve learned.” . We are #InspiredByHer! Young people like Zainab have a right to be involved in decisions which affect them. That's why we are establishing a #YouthSoundingBoard on EU International Partnerships, under the leadership of Commissioner @juttaurpilainen.
