I know, and I’m the biggest supporter of people being themselves, but sometimes it’s just SO fatiguing. It’s really irritating when people treat you like you’re stupid because you LOOK young. I know everyone makes a quick judgement about people right away and reacts according to that judgement, and that it’s normal, but it just gets so annoying to have people not take me seriously or laugh at me when I tell them I’d a goddamn adult
and Ryan is already so self conscious about looking creepy, that I’d prefer not to add to it. I thought he was being paranoid about it at first, but it turns out he’s not wrong. And I hate that, I just want both of us to be comfortable being the way we are.
And it’s just been happening for SO long, too. I distinctly remember when I was 18 and I was wearing a cute, short dress during the summer and an older woman would not stop glaring at me. it made me so self conscious, and I figured it was partially because my hair was super long and I looked 13 that she thought I was inappropriate or something. :/ I’ve only just, in the past year, been able to wear skirts and dresses above my knees again.
It’s just always in the back of my mind. makes me wanna get a tan or something and age my face a little, haha (but seriously fuck that idea)
