I rarely get night shift FOMO. I work back half nights, which includes Friday and Saturday, and keeps me on a nocturnal schedule. I spend my weekends at home, honestly not doing much lately. (Anhedonia? Ask therapist)
But this afternoon when I woke up, Husband asked if I had a camp chair. There’s a free concert tonight, Dotsero (jazz band, I’ve seen them, they’re good) is playing, and he wants to go. I wanna go too! Anyway, I found a camp chair in the trunk of my car and I genuinely hope he has a good time.
I miss celebrating “Friday night, my week is over!” with my husband. I don’t want the end of *my* week to be Friday, because that would mean going back to a normal business hours schedule, and that doesn’t work for me. Two days is too short for a weekend. But like, front half days? I’d do some front half days if the schedule presented itself to me in the future.
Anyway, time to pack a lunch and go in. The ambulances aren’t gonna dispatch themselves.
(Actually they might. And that would be worse than them not doing that.)
