If anyone had told Joanna even a week ago that she would have understood Thomas not coming to her own scan she would have just scoffed. But situations changed and she really didn’t see how she could be angry at him for needing to be with California at that moment. Still she was somewhat surprised to see that he’d come back to their home, any irritation that had been felt melted away almost instantly as she took in the look on his face.

Without thinking she stepped forward, wrapping her arms tight around his waist. It wasn’t lost on her that this was probably the first time she’d initiated any contact in weeks but her heart ached too much for him to let logic in.

Nat didn’t like drugs, they didn’t like the person it could make you become and they didn’t like the way it would make them feel. But above all that she loved Piper and if they needed help then she would be there. Which is perhaps why she turned up on their doorstep, bags in hand (not all of them full with legal purchases) and a nervous smile as the door opened.
