Insanity update: Week 1
I get so nervous right before my Insanity workout every day. I wouldn't know, except my body acts like it always did right before I had to give any kind of presentation in college. The nervousness goes away as soon as I start though. So it's better to just get right into it.
As far as soreness, my calves were sore for two days at the beginning of the week and my quads have been sore for two days after doing cardio recovery. All of this is normal and I'm actually happy to feel sore because I know it's the good kind of sore.
I'm glad I use my heart rate monitor for every workout because it's good to see my avg heart rate, max heart rate, and an approximation of calories burned.
I've had a gallon of water every day this week and have had approximately 1,700 calories every day, which is on point with how much I'm supposed to be eating in order to be eating enough for the program and also to be losing weight along the way.
Today was my first weigh-in since I started on Sunday and the scale shows that I'm down 1 lb. Since deciding to keep the scale in the closet, I've had a little bit of anxiety about it, but that's okay. This is part of the process of weaning myself off of using it so frequently. My weight is not my main focus here. That will come off as I keep up these good habits. I'm not in a rush about it. I'm doing measurements every 15 days, so no updates on that yet.
Okay, time to do the last day of my first week of Insanity!
