Chapter Summary:  The Inquisitor's anxieties boil over in the Plains, and she looks to Naomi for solace and direction in her time of crisis. Luckily, nothing helps quite like the brutally honest words of an old friend. With a little bit of renewed strength, Olivia finds the courage to cut her losses on her talks with the late Duke's Chevaliers. Just when she thinks the loose ends are tied, an unexpected twist transpires.

Chapter Summary:  The Inquisitor and Commander Jehan at last meet again, the first time since the Imperial Army's liberation in the Citadelle. Their meeting takes place in a slightly unorthodox setting, though one Olivia as a born-and-raised horsewoman hardly objects to. Unfortunately, the long-awaited conversation does not go as gracefully or as productively as planned.

Chapter Summary:  Tensions between Olivia and Naomi come to a head as Olivia decides to take Jehan up on her offer. The conflict takes an unprecedented turn, revealing insecurities on both ends. Olivia finds herself on the brink of a new choice: to give into a correction based on friendship, or a dare based on adversarial position.

Chapter Summary:  A flashback to the beginning of Bloomingtide, when the last of the Inquisition's forces and Advisers return to Skyhold from their mission to Halamshiral; through Naomi's eyes, the return still leaves her waiting to exhale. The distance between the Inquisitor and her friendly ally, Madame de Fer, begins to show its strain, and Naomi tries to use her leverage to prevent its break. Flashforward to the current time in the Exalted Plains, and the Inquisitor's growing rivalry with Commander Jehan bears interesting developments. Meanwhile, Naomi's concerns continue to tempt her meddling.

Chapter Summary:  Another flashback to earlier in Bloomingtide. Seeker Cassandra and Enchanter Naomi continue to do what they can on their conjoined project before Naomi leaves for the Plains. In striking up a friendship, Cassandra has found someone new to hear her out on her troubles with faith; sadly, she is not all-together prepared for the honesty. Weeks later, Leliana is struggling to balance multiple tensions: having Morrigan at Skyhold, for one.
