ABOUT INQUIETART/INCART:
Incart consists of two projects managers: Antoni Garreta y David Campaner (both fine artists). They founded the Inquietart organization, which was born with the goal of promoting art in the city of Inca, Majorca. Some other artists join to this initiative in order to create INCART. The goal of this organization is to encourage culture by a specific project: INCART. So that, artists can be the main character of a festival in which art is shown from all its possible disciplines. It is for that reason that the artists take the reins of the project in collaboration with the Culture Area of the Inca Town Hall in order to create a diverse cultural exhibition. INCART is offering the artists several spaces for exhibiting their works during the festival and is giving the possibility to the visitors to share and join contemporary art without intermediaries. Â INCART is an annual exhibition which has taken place during eight editions. It has a duration of three weeks. The main philosophy is the use of places in disuse, both public and private where the artist must adapt and conceive his work. Consequently, the places are plural and it can be a place ready to make exhibitions or even private places like industrial units in disuse, particular houses or business buildings. In each edition the number of participants varies, both in its origin and its discipline; but the number vary between 50 and 70 participants. The expositive format is also diverse because of the exhibitions or individual and collective contributions.
Relative to the number of visitants, it has increased in the different editions and they have about 1,000-1,500 visits. It is a more than acceptable number taking into account that Inca is a small and post-industrial city which is located in the interior of Majorca. It also has around 30,000 inhabitants. During these eight years the impact of the festival inside the island has been gathering strength, because it was the first festival with this profile in our geography. This fact has supposed the appearance of several similar festivals generating a flow of artists who go over the island.
David Campaner for INCART both
Self-educated artist (Inca, 1977). His work is related to a word which appeared constantly in his work: Hotel. It is a concept in constant evolution which is projected in different disciplines like painting and installation. His work has been shown in different places around Spain and Europe. Nowadays, he combines his artist workshop with teaching. Artista autodidacta (Inca, 1977). Su trabajo se relaciona con una palabra que aparece constantemente en su obra “Hotel”. Un concepto en constante evoluciĂłn que proyecta en diferentes disciplinas como la pintura o instalaciones. Su obra ha sido expuesta en diferentes puntos de la geografĂa española y europea. Actualmente compagina su taller de artista con la docencia.

Margalida Rotger for INCART both
(Inca 1975) Graduate in Beaux Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She receives the international grant “PROMOE” which is developed in Le Martinique (Maritime France). Her childhood marks her artistic creation submerging the spectator in an inner world riddled with wounds and conflicts. Her work is shown as a kind of compact series and through different materials like iron, wood and ceramic. Nowadays, she combines her artistic life with teaching.
(Inca 1975), Licenciada en Bellas artes por la Universidad PolitĂ©cnica de Valencia. Recibe una beca internacional “PROMOE” que desarrolla en Martinque (Francia MarĂtima). Su infancia marca su creaciĂłn artĂstica sumergiendo al espectador en un mundo interior plagado de heridas y conflictos. Su obra se presenta a modo de series compactas y a travĂ©s de diferentes materiales como el hierro, la madera o la cerámica. Actualmente compagina su vida artĂstica con la docencia.
Antoni "Garreta" for INCART both
Self-educated artist (Inca, 1965). His work is shown in different forms like painting and installations inside a minimalism both in its execution and in its structure and planning. His work is focus on the existentialism defending the basic and primitive values of the human being and the nature in its environment. He has exhibited in different places of Spain and abroad (Switzerland or Budapest). He has also been awarded in different fine art contents such as the Premi Ciutat d’Inca, Vila de Costis and MarratxĂ. He is an active member of Inquietart and forefather of Incart since its first edition.
