raise hell / lavi & cross
@inkinglogs
He needed a drink. He needed one so bad. He was getting too old for this kind of shit. Tiedoll would be laughing at him before throwing out his own back right now. Cross just didn’t feel up to fighting. He didn’t feel like dealing with all this absolute shit. It was just... too much.
But here he was, traversing the city. He supposed he had to do something. Sector 006 was on fire, and for some reason, that seemed familiar, like it had happened many, many times before. He couldn’t quite place why.
Drones tried to swarm him, and he shot most of them down before activating Magdala Curtain. That was certainly a lot easier. Perhaps Maria’s singing could be a prayer for all that could hear it.
He stopped walking for a split second, and in between the flames of two buildings, he saw new flames erupt, rising high into the sky, taking down any drones in its path.
Familiar. Interesting.
He maneuvered through the crowds, Maria following close behind while still singing, until he got close enough. Unfortunately, that stupid boy had disappeared, and Cross thought he had left.
Also unfortunately---Cross was in the direct path of the next seal. He saw the shadows before anything else, and he only had a split second to move out from underneath the hammer before it slammed on the ground. He deactivated Magdala Curtain, extinguishing singed hairs.
“Oi! You stupid brat!” he screamed, pointing menacingly at Lavi. “Were you trying to hurt my pretty face?!”
