Confession #1418
You ever read a fanfic similar to yours that's so good you just give up on your own idea?
When i first started to write and make Inkclot I had this idea to make a romance fanfic between My Little Pony's Big Mcintosh and an OC. I knew that it wasn't original but I thought that if I just wrote it well enough then it could be elevated and loved by all who read it.
I never wrote anything creative aside from a handful of drug addled poems and sexts and I thought that my first story would be a beloved 50 chapter love story? I wasn't surprised when I got two months into my "monthly upload schedule" and had given up completely.
I took it as a learning experience, never post until it's fully fleshed out, do research and outlining, don't suck. I started working on other project but I kept the first chapter up incase I wanted to come back to it, sometimes I'd think about deleting it and stop myself because maybe when I get better then I can make the story.
Then one day I was on FimFiction and I found a romance epic, a perfect love story between Big Mcintosh and an OC. it wasn't original but it was written so well that I loved it, perfect mix of cute, sweet and gay longing. (no it wasn't mine, this ain't that kinda post)
It was exactly the kinda story I wanted to write and it was done almost a decade ago, and infinitely better then mine. I wasn't mad or bitter about it like I expected of myself but it was more like letting go of a responsibility I no longer needed to worry about. Like I could let these characters exist and live without having to worry.
What do you guys think, have you had this happen to you?
"He could have threatened my life, could have said he'd kill me if I screamed or promised to assault me but instead he said something much worse and personal.

Confession #1614
Me: *writes a disturbing religious horror story with no happy ending*
Beta reader #1: As a Christian, I think it's great that the main character found God and peace in the end, even if he suffered to get to the point.
Beta reader #2: As a Christian... yo bro, that fucking rocks, have you thought of adding in some bloody penises or some bashed in heads.
I've completely lost control, I reached too far too fast and greed consumed me.
Drowning deep in prose and imaginary...
I brought 14 new books this week, and now my suitcase is too heavy :((
