#ink war

What do you get when you mix Splatoon with Pink Floyd? A lot of colors. Or as they would spell it, "colours." Any colour, in fact, that you'd like.

A network savvy player gives a great explanation on why it’s lag, not skill (or hacking), which typically gives Japanese players a major advantage. Don’t hate on the poor Japanese players! It’s not their fault.

I guess the first thing I should do is explain the title. I have been thinking about creating a tumblr for a while now, but I swore that if I was going to do it, I had to come up with a spectacular title first.

In the weeks I spent brainstorming, this kept coming up: The Ink War.

Now why a "war", you ask? And why an "ink" war at that?

See, I write. I write like I breathe and eat and sleep; it's a biological need. I've been writing for a while now, almost eight years, but that was for my own pleasure. Lately, however, with the end of my college years drawing near and the imminent threat of the "what are you going to do with your life?" question, I have decided it's time I take writing seriously. Like finish-an-MS-query-get-rejected- hopefully-get-published seriously.

And I thought what better way to establish my seriousness than posting it on the internet?

Thus The Ink War.

Because publishing IS a war. In which you have to battle vigorously every day. In which sometimes you loose, sometimes you win. In which your only weapon is a pen and some paper. And the necessary ink.

Gentle readers, whoever you are, this page will be filled with my daily battles of the ink kind as I fight to get my work on paper.
