why you should write mini-essays?
even if you're not writer, artist or something like that.
nowadays we are surrounded by information: endless news, unimaginable count of media like movies and series, great books, great songs and scientific research that can blow your mind. but what we keep for us from that after all? data comes and goes like posts while scrolling, and in the end of the day, week and month we left alone with nothing after having everything. we have freedom, access to every inch of information we need, but do we remember what we were doing and thinking about hour ago? day? week?
there's many ways to stop and figure out present like it is now. and mini-essays not only helping to learn how to manage your thoughts, turn fuzzy ideas into clear ones and train structure automatically, after you write and save your mini-essay about your favorite song, interesting theory or things that make your anxiety go crazy, in every moment you can go back, look at your thoughts and knew, that have you done, where have you been and where are you now.
like save points in the videogame. just a little time-consuming. but it's worth it. believe me.
with love, lost_monster 💜

Today is Information Overload Day!
This is a very interesting concept. To have insight and what seems to be sound research into why even the good conversations can drain us is nice. In the past, I would fault myself for not being able to be socially engaged almost continuously without a break as it seemed others were doing. Eventually, I discovered and accepted that it took me a bit longer to recharge, and that I recharged in a different way than others.

no one told me that learning to dm involves so much reading D:
THE GOOGLE-SHAPED HOLE IN THE SOUL
Maybe adulthood is just watching the world slowly lose its magic under fluorescent lighting and search bars.
Remember when everything felt enormous?
A dark hallway at night felt haunted. Rainstorms felt personal. The moon felt like it was following you home.
Now every mystery has an explanation attached to it.
The strange sound in the house is “just pipes.” The shooting star is “just debris.” The feeling in your chest is “just anxiety.”
We replaced wonder with information.
We don’t sit with questions anymore. We immediately search them.
Google. Reddit. TikTok. Wikipedia.
The modern brain is terrified of not knowing something for more than 8 seconds.
And maybe that’s why so many people feel emotionally hollow now.
Because awe requires uncertainty.
Childhood felt magical because you didn’t fully understand the world yet. Everything still had the potential to mean something.
Now adulthood feels like living inside an instruction manual.
Optimize this. Monetize that. Track your sleep. Track your calories. Track your screen time. Turn your existence into data until your life stops feeling lived and starts feeling managed.
We know the chemical composition of stars but forgot how to look at them and feel small.
The world did not become less magical.
We just became too efficient to notice it anymore.
“I still have a massive Reddit addiction.”
“It’s just got so much good information from others who struggle with the same things I do.”
“But I probably shouldn’t have spent half my day looking up ways to relieve my social anxiety.” 😅
