Schedule & Rules
Schedule:
January: Theme submissions

May 4th-20th: Event!

June: Event post-mortem including survey results
Rules:
1. Comments fuel the fan-creator's soul, but the Comment Fest isn't only for traditional comments: any type of responsive interaction with fan-made content as a reader/viewer/listener counts!
If leaving comments on fic or art posts isn't your jam, try reblogging with comments or solo recommending or putting together a whole rec list! If you're telling the creator 'Hey, I liked this thing you made. (And maybe even, here's why.) Thanks for making it!' in some way, you're nailing it.
2. When commenting, please err on the side of positive. If the creator has explicitly said they would like constructive feedback, you may of course offer that politely as you wish, but otherwise, please respond to the love the creator put into their fanwork with love in return.
For unfinished works in particular, please try to avoid mentioning updating/finishing or commenting on how long it's been since an update. While some creators don't mind these types of comments, for some others it can cause a lot of shame and anxiety. Try to comment positively only on what's there.
3. You are welcome to track your progress with our provided graphics and forms, but it’s not necessary. If it's fun for you to track and tally, please do! But this is a no pressure fest and it's all on the honor system: no one is going to be checking, and you're not obligated to track or report, or even to participate if you end up unable to.
If artificial pressure helps you, consider getting a group of fandom friends together and keeping each other on track. If you want to find a group for that, you’re more than welcome to send us an ask (not anonymous) and we’ll post it here so others can reach out.
