01: “I’m called Virian Kiirrum-- it’s wonderful to finally meet you, Verus. I haven’t had contact with people outside of my grove in a long time, so I hope you’ll forgive me if I struggle with the pace of things here.”

02: “‘Murder’ is too personal of a term. It was a simple, logical decision-- no emotions were involved, I assure you.”

03: “Please, let me know if there’s anything I can help you with. I’m sure that you’ve got a lot to shoulder-- and take it from me, the burden will only get heavier over time.”

04: “There isn’t much nature here. No animals to speak with, either. In a way, it feels as if I’ve been… blinded.”

05: “Forgiven or not, I wouldn’t take it back. I’ll do my best to make everything clear to you, so that the difficulty of your decision might be eased just a bit.”

01: “You can just call me Zarrea. That’s all I’ll answer to, anyways.”

02: “Yeah, I killed someone. Or a lot of someones, I guess. There’s plenty of regret there, but that’s probably all the information you’re gonna get from me right now.”

03: “I don’t mind being judged for my crimes, but I wonder who decided you’re qualified to do that.”

04: “It feels strange, not sleeping beneath the open sky. But it’s not like I can go back.”

05: “I’m not going to try and influence your decision. Just take everything into account and make a smart one.”

01: “The name’s Araglar. I’m 9 years old, which is probably closer to 14 in orc years. It’s good to meetcha!”

02: “Murder? U-um… I guess that’s what it was, yeah. I’m real sorry, though, honest…”

03: “My ma always told me that judging people is wrong. But maybe the rules don’t apply to you? Wait, that sounded kind of rude-- but I’m serious! There’s no hard feelings if that’s it, really!”

04: “Uh… not to be disrespectful or anything, but when are you gonna let us go? Because this whole thing seems to be making everyone sorta sad.”

05: “I don’t really get this whole innocent, guilty thing… can’t you just forgive everyone? None of them seem like bad people.”

01: “My name is Aeana Ignis and I’m 32 years old. That’s just about all you need to hear, I believe, unless you want a pretty little story to entertain yourself with.”

02: “Murder… is an accurate way of putting it, actually. Are you surprised by that? Does it feel good to be told you’re right every once in a while?”

03: “I’ve told countless stories of criminals and divine judgment… yet you’re nothing like anything I’ve pictured or described. And that isn’t a compliment.”

04: “I hope you don’t keep us here too long. I guarantee that after a long enough time with everyone here, you’ll be suffering more than all of us combined.”

05: “Forgiveness, guilt… are you quite sure you’re capable of making such tough decisions? You seem somewhat… inexperienced.”

02: “Murder feels like a dramatic way of putting it, even for me. Are you sure you’ve got the right guy? …okay, I’m just kidding. I know why I’m here, even if I don’t really agree.”

03: “I’ve never met a real Aasimar… you really are just as ethereal as I’ve heard. Can you bring the wings out? I wanna see ‘em.”

04: “Imprisonment is so extreme. And the decorations in here are so… severe. It’s putting a damper on my mood.”

05: “I mean, I’m not guilty of anything all that bad. I’m sure Lliira would back me up, if she was here. You really wanna disagree with a goddess?”

01: “I’m Samako Matsukura. 16 years old. Currently a student at a mage college in Waterdeep, on the evocation track.”

02: “Murder? Murder is the name of the crime, not the action. If what I did was not a crime, does that not make it not murder? Hm?”

03: “So what makes you special, Warden? Why did they put you in charge? Just so I can understand.”

04: “I’m going to miss my midterm exams if I don’t get out of here soon, you know. Hey, do you think I can at least study for them here?”

05: “I’ve already written an essay on why I think I deserve absolution. Would you like to read it?”

01: “I’ve been called a lot of things over my 267 years. But I’ll spare you the long list. My name is Danzmyr Maeneld."

02: “Yes, I killed someone. To think I went almost three centuries without doing that, just for it to happen then and there. Hm…”

03: “So, you’re the warden here. Do you get a lot of contact with the outside world? Have you heard about me before? ...I have to admit that I hope you haven't.”

04: “I wonder why I’m here. I mean, after all, we live in a world full of conflict. Plenty of people kill. Why aren’t they also stuck in a dusty old castle like this? …Not a complaint. Just a thought.”

05: “You seem like a good judge of character. I was worried I’d have to think too hard about my crime myself, but it seems like you’re going to be doing that for me. Forgivable or unforgivable… I just don’t know. But you’ll almost certainly be right.”
