Syzygy
My dreams scatter like light refracting off water Night surrounds me like a veil Close enough to feel yet lonely and insubstantial
Tonight the night scape surrounds me I look forward to the pretty, little lights The ones I once knew so very well When more of me felt alive And the missing stars spangled for you
I can taste the longing of a wish upon my tongue My song to a shooting star yearning to be sung But what is it that I truly want My heart knows not
I now own an empty sky Looking up to nothing but what was The moon isn’t visible from here She’s left me behind as well
How long until you will illuminate the sky Momentary and fleeting before you are gone again This time I don’t want to say goodbye As an ember glows and a fire burns Like lightening above the city
I often focus on the water Thoughts of becoming part of the glow As I slowly descend the world
Lighting my peripheral vision Stardust settles in my eyes I breathe in gold falling from the night So lost in time that all I see right now is this
Into the cold comfort of forever Hope surprises when it burns the sky I close my eyes and wish again For peace and love and everything
So I raise my face to the heavens And whisper to you I wish-
A heart that opens once more I wish when this is over I can open my eyes to you
