THE TRAIL WAS STILL SO HOT almost uncomfortably so, but it was her only choice. The cougar was injured, hurt in a rush to try to protect her family - only to end up losing her way amidst the chaos. Cuts and gashes riddled the cat’s frame, but still she pressed on - following a trail of scorched footprints. Why? she didn’t know what else to do. This land was foreign to her, so she chose to pursue the only life she had found evidence of. Friend or foe, she’d find out soon enough.
