Savor the decadent, chocolate-infused goodness of freshly made chocolate doughnuts. These delicious treats are great for any time of day as a sweet snack or for breakfast. They're a hit with everyone because of their rich chocolate glaze and optional sprinkles!
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp baking soda. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup buttermilk. 1/4 cup vegetable oil. 1 large egg. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips. Vegetable oil for frying. 1 cup powdered sugar. 2-3 tbsp milk. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Sprinkles optional.
Instructions: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the semisweet chocolate chips. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350F 175C. Using a doughnut mold or two round cookie cutters one large, one small, cut out doughnuts from the dough. Carefully place the doughnuts into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the doughnuts from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze. Adjust the consistency with more milk if needed. Dip each doughnut into the glaze, allowing the excess to drip off. Top with sprinkles if desired. Let the glaze set for a few minutes, and then enjoy your homemade chocolate doughnuts!

Optional: Chocolate shavings or sprinkles for decoration.
Instructions: Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius and line a cupcake tin with paper liners. Mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a big bowl. Whisk together the eggs, brewed coffee, Kahlua liqueur, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil in a separate bowl. Stirring until thoroughly combined, gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Add the semisweet chocolate chips and mix well. Spoon the batter evenly into each cupcake liner, filling it to about two thirds of the way. When a toothpick is inserted into the center of a cupcake, it should come out clean after 18 to 20 minutes of baking in a preheated oven. After taking the cupcakes out of the oven, allow them to cool for a few minutes in the pan before moving them to a wire rack to finish cooling. Make the Kahlua frosting while the cupcakes are cooling. Beat the softened butter until it becomes creamy in a mixing bowl. Add the cocoa powder, vanilla extract, Kahlua liqueur, and confectioners' sugar gradually while beating the frosting until it becomes fluffy and smooth. Using a piping bag or spatula, frost the cupcakes with the Kahlua frosting once they have completely cooled. Not required: Use sprinkles or chocolate shavings to decorate.
