Take it from us, painting a wall isnβt as daunting as you might think. However, if you skip some steps in a bid to save time, youβll be kicking yourself later.Β
β
Prep your wall: this is your key to a smooth finish. Paint canβt fill a hole and depending on the colour, it might highlight it more. Take the time, patch the holes, sand, wash your walls. Your future self will thank you later.Β
β
Work in small sections: avoid cutting-in the whole room as the edges will dry and give you a picture frame effect (unless thatβs the look youβre going for). As the professional painters will tell you, itβs all about the wet edge. Work in sections of 1m x 1m and roll into your edge to blend the two together.Β
β
Roll in a W pattern: this will ensure an even spread of paint on your wall.
β
Lay-off: and we donβt mean the chocolate. This technique ensures a smooth finish. Start at the top and lightly roll over your wet paint (without adding more) to even out the coating.Β
β
Donβt rush time: drying time is there for a reason. Paint for longevity, not the clock.Β
And if youβre still unsure, come in and see us. We will walk you through every stage of your paint project. We live for this stuff.
