That would still be Malbec cause Luce is the last one I’ve set up otherwise NFBAJFH i could def answer questions about them too but i’ll take this as a chance to try and spitball some more details about Mal!
Trainer canon: I’m not sure yet how wild I want to get with his background, but I’ve been thinking more specifically on his reaction to Grisham. Mal bristles almost immediately on contact with him like “You are so. Annoying!!! 8)” and I think the problem is how Grisham has such (earned) vitriol for the past plans of Lysandre and AZ- but the problem is he ends up just sounding like “and *I’ll* do it better because I’m not like them”, which not only smacks of the same arrogance he’s preachy about, but also sounds like a whole lot of hot air, and Mal is especially touchy re: the state of Lumiose because the rampant mega-energy wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the meddlings and grandiose ideas of Team Flare.
That’s why he likes the Rust Syndicate— even though they’re controlling and predatory as an organization, they’re also operating on Doing Something for their community/the common person.
I don’t know if I have the brain to philosophize about all that atm, especially since my memory of dialogue is sort of spotty, but I’d love to bounce around that conversation to smooth out the rougher edges 😂 Especially since that’ll make it easier to explain why and how he ends up working for Momo in gijinkaverse)
