The flight wasn't too bad. We had a quick transit in Hong Kong where we hoped we could have enough time to lunch at but i guess time wasn't in our favour. The flight from HK to Los Angeles however, wasn't that fantastic. Turbulence went on and off, i could just almost imagine God playing with the wind switch; happily flicking it restlessly like a kid at Toy-R-Us with one of those interactive demo toys until it breaks. The interval of normalcy never lasted more than 5 minutes. And it really doesn't help that i'm horrible with flying. I have the inherent tendency to up-chuck my guts out at any given chance. The only incentive was Cathay Pacific's plane food; it was pretty good asian food. Besides, for some weird reason i do enjoy the sound of the food trolley on the plane when it approaches your isle. Its the same feeling i get when i'm waiting for a package to arrive in the mail. Hmpph, its kind of hard to explain... Oh well. :)

By the time we got to Los Angeles it was about 11am in the morning. We had brunch on the plane, semi-ample sleep and ready to take on the city on our very first day of exploring. We got through the customs smoothly and was warmly received at the airport by mark john's cousin, Henry. 

Thanks so much to Henry and Tiffany for putting us up. Especially Henry for taking us around today. The apartment is gorgeous; its nice and spacious with beautiful high ceilings, has a quaint little fire place where we can warm our legs and not forgetting the convenient location along Santa Monica Boulevard.

Speaking of fireplace. The weather here is really enjoyable, it does feel like i'm walking around town in a giant 18 degrees air-conditioned room with bright natural sunlight. The wind does get a little chilly from time to time but regardless, its a much better change than the heatwave back home. Come to think about it, it just feels like such a sin that i'm enjoying the benefits of the weather here. It just makes me feel so guilty that i'm enjoying such awesome weather here while my fellow countrymen are probably baking or battling the temperamental rain. If its any consolation folks, if i could i'd love to bring the weather back as a souvenir for you guys!

Well, the rest of the day in LA was pretty laid back. We were all just staying in, trying to settle in the apartment while handling our jetlaggy-ness. We had dinner at Korea Town before heading out for some FROZEN YOGURT at a nearby joint called Froplay. Basically, the idea of the shop allows you to customize your very own frozen yogurt just the way you want it (completely self service). The dessert is than charged by the weight of what you've concocted. The place was just heaven; the yogurt dispensers were neatly lined up with a huge selection of flavours to choose from while the topping bar was packed with insane variety. Chocolate chips, M&Ms, Peanut butter chunks, Raisins, Grains, Sauces, Fruits, Rainbow Rice, you name it they have it. 

Thanks to Frozen yogurt, my jetlagged of a body was restored into its original zen state. Yes, once again the constellations of my universe are alined and my well fed soul is ready to knock out.
