Haha aww really? I read The Pearl, The Red Pony, and Of Mice and Men and I liked those three a lottt. I just can't seem to pick up the pace with this one ):
It was the first book I ever read from him and I think I was about 12.. I did love to read by then but it was just so boring and I remember thinking the story was stupid.. I don't know, maybe if I read it now I'd actually like it but I have such a huge grudge against him that I can't even bring myself to try, the same with Jorge Amado, I read "O gato Malhado e a andorinha Sinhá" (wiki doesn't have an English title so I guess it was never translated) and thought it was the stupidest and most ridiculous thing ever and now no matter how my mother insists I should read "Captains of the Sand", that's it's different and great, I can't bring myself to do it.
