i love supernatural writers and their steadfast commitment to be baiting both sides of the fandom at the same time bc it's literally so unhinged the things they do to pander for the w/incest side and it DOESN'T EVEN WORK if you're not IN IT. like i was thinking about the jesse/Caesar episode (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong bc I hated chitters even when i watched it back in 2017 but I have vivid memories of certain scenes bc they were hilarious to me even back then), and there is that scene before sam & dean figure out that they're gay where dean looks at them arguing and goes "omg you guys argue just like us! like bothers!!!" and they're like "or an old married couple!" and dean is "hahaha yes I know people say that to us ALLLLL the time" but then the music does that comedy moment thing and you're like "oh YOU ARE!" and like I know destiel shippers hate to acknowledge this kinda shit but IT'S SO FUNNY TO ME. the explicit purpose of this dialogue is so that w/incest shippers can go "OMG LOOK! dean thought they were arguing like brothers but they're arguing like an old married couple! this is PROOF that sam&dean are like jesse&ceaser!" and like. it doesn't even work beyond like a silly bit. bc one pair is actually brothers by blood and no one is thinking about it outside of the fandom. like truly you'll be watching them and when sam is like "don't you think about settling down with someone who gets the life" destiel shippers are like omg he's talking about cas and w/incest shippers are like omg he's fully propositioning him rn he wants to MARRY & SETTLE DOWN with his brother and some random guy named brad who works in finance and started watching this show bc he has daddy issues and thinks he's a feminist bc he took one (1) gender studies class in college, and that he's getting a good grade at being a man bc he drinks whisky and eats steak, is going to be sitting there going "FINALLY! I HOPE THEY'RE BRINGING PUSSY BACK TO SUPERNATURAL!" and then the writers just never talk about it again and everyone is disappointed & they take it out by killing each other on the internet. incredible. what I wouldn't give to be in one of those rooms as they plan these episodes. it's FASCINATING.
