My sister sent me this example she saw of an inappropriate* word usage, so you can blame her for the very slightly NSFW nature of today's example.
The correct word here would be asserting, not inserting. To assert one's authority (sexual or otherwise) means to cause others to recognize it by means of confident or forceful behavior.
To insert means to put (something) into (something else), which makes its incorrect placement in a sentence about sexual authority a somewhat amusing one.

OK. I just started reading the Pendragon series by DJ MacHale. I was fine with it until on the 68th page he described a young man's "colorful Hentai-animation superhero cartoon" as "playschool"-like and childish (as compared to the half-naked girl in a thong poster beside it).
This is a printing 5 years after the original. Someone PLEASE tell me later editions were corrected. O_o
