But also, I love the secret little “joke” that during the cat festival Phillip doesn’t wear cat ears but fox ears, symbolizing his job as a shapeshifter. And as his mixed-race “daughter” Mia wears a mix of cat and fox ears.
And of course Phillip prays at an Inari shrine at the end and sees himself inside, symbolizing that Kikuo was right, Phillip embodies the fox Kami by using his shapeshifting to help others.

Inari is a municipality in Lapland. It has the largest area of any municipality in Finland and is the second most northern. The flag of Inari is a banner of arms. Inari’s coat of arms was designed by Ahti Hammar, one of the most renowned Finnish heraldists, and was granted in 1955. This is its blazon: "Mustassa kentässä uiva hopeinen siika päässään kultaiset sarvet." The salmon with reindeer antlers represents the central role salmon fishing and reindeer herding play in Inari.
