wait i forgot. both kamelia and ina would be crazy evil bitches for being bad mothers.
oh this is fun ty @mimisdaverse for the tag <3
kamelia, finn & ina's opinions on each race
Elves:
Kamelia: generally positive, as an elf, though she prefers alienage elves to dalish elves because dalish elves bring up a lot of complex feelings for her.
Finn: Strongly prefers elves to humans, having lived her entire life in the alienage and then sold into slavery by humans but being rescued by the Dalish. She has lived a very elf-centric life
Ina: The most likely to help another person for the sole reason that they are an elf. Strong feelings about being an elf and being connected to that part of her identity.
Humans:
Kamelia: The most neutral on humans out of the Surana sisters by virtue of being raised primarily in the Circle. She's more inclined to distrust based on belonging to a group rather than race.
Finn: Absolutely does not trust humans, mostly as a matter of exposure. It takes a LONG time for her to open up to the humans in the Inquisition, and she never fully opens up to any human but Josephine.
Ina: Slightly less distrustful than Finn but more traumatized about it. She's exposed to them a lot more by virtue of Being In A Big City Like Minrathous, and knows individual people she really likes and even loves, but does not trust them as a whole.
Dwarves:
Kamelia: Since dwarves can't do magic, she's never met one until Orzammar and she's blown away by how intricate their society is - but she doesn't understand why they'd willingly live below ground, and is weary of their caste system and politicking almost immediately, it being too reminiscent of the Circle.
Finn: Doesn't give them much thought until she meets Varric at which point she quickly becomes obsessed with them and wants to learn a lot about their culture
Ina: Definitely has met the most dwarves out of the three and generally likes them, especially after Varric adopts her like an angry cat. She would definitely say some shit like "Oh you're a dwarf where can I get good ale" though
Qunari:
Kamelia: Has never met one before she leaves the Circle. However Kamelia and Sten quickly become friends. She doesn't really *understand* qunari culture but she enjoys his stoic, no nonsense nature and the deep respect he has for mastery of the battlefield. He doesn't always approve of her decisions but appreciates her sparing his life and recognizes that she is very young, and sees the sacrifices she makes. She enjoys learning from him and hearing about his ways, though she wouldn't adopt them herself.
Finn: That iron bull romance baby! Part of what makes Bull open up to Finn is her genuine interest in hearing about where he's come from and how he feels about it without judgment. Bull being Qunari is incidental - she just picks him to fool around with because she's heard he's good at it - but she comes to appreciate all the things that have shaped her man.
Ina: Ina again has the most exposure to Qunari but I don't think she gives it much thought beyond "the qun's not for me but that's a hot lady"
Lola's opinions on class/groups:
Grey Wardens:
Kamelia: Initially very excited about joining the grey wardens as her ticket out of Kinloch Hold. She has a #problematic age gap fling with Duncan because he knows he's about to die and she's literally high on life. She feels MASSIVELY betrayed when she finds out that the Joining is basically a death sentence, and struggles with the Wardens after that. After the fifth blight, she leaves them for a time but ultimately ends up coming back and recruiting more mages for them as well as helping them train and assimilate into society. Her feelings about being a Warden remain complex for the rest of her life, but ultimately they gave her freedom, so it's more good than harm
Finn: she dgaf
Ina: She also dgaf but she knows her sister's one so she's like cool
Mages:
Kamelia: literally the biggest mage rights activist there is
Finn: A bit untrustworthy of other mages, especially chantry-trained ones, because she thinks they're haughty and too interested in theories and she just wants to look at bugs, man
Ina: Ina hides her magic for most of her life, viewing it as dangerous and deadly - and it is, even when it's helping her escape. When she gets it under control then she starts to become a bit more comfortable with it but she would never identify as a mage first since the basis of her oppression is mostly due to her being an elf, not a mage
Blood mages:
Kamelia: is one. oops. she does it as an act of desperation and regrets it later on. but it did need to happen
Finn: Doesn't trust anybody who becomes one without a really good reason but she's like #notallbloodmages, especially after meeting and talking to Morrigan
Ina: Middling. In Minrathous she's seen blood mages so some crazy fucked up stuff but she's also seen regular mages and people without any magic at all do that too.
Templars:
Kamelia: While I wouldn't say she outright hates them she is EXTREMELY wary of them after living so much of her life at Kinloch Hold. She doesn't know about the lyrium and if she did it wouldn't make a difference to her because she's seen them have their way with mages too much.
Finn: Mostly middling out of a lack of experience, but doesn't like what they stand for, especially not following the teachings of the Chantry herself
Ina: shes not even like "this is an unimaginable evil" she literally just thinks they're lame
Rogues: All three of them when they meet a rogue: hell yeah baby
Nobility:
Kamelia: She finds them long winded and suffering and noticed how haughty noble mage kids were at the Circle. She is good at politics but she really doesn't enjoy it. Part of the reason she fucks off after the events of Origins is because she can't handle all of a sudden actually being a Teyrna herself
Finn: she dgaf
Ina: Oh she hates these mfs. Being born with a title is sure grounds for Ina to HATE them based on that alone. Which of course makes her toxic yuri with Maevaris that much more complicated.

Shameless Self Promo Saturday:
Thank you for the tag to my wife @papayafig
I really don't have much to be shameless about since most of this is inside my head in something that makes way more sense when you read it in narrative form, but I'll share the Kamelia/Ina reunion piece even though it's quite short because that's one of my fav things I've ever written. Under readmore
tagging @mimilyks @ibuprofinator @bloodfail and anybody who wants to can say i tagged them
Kamelia flexes her hand, running her finger over the scars. The water in Minrathous is dirty and salty, a more lively ocean than Kamelia has ever seen. It’s nearly surreal to be sitting here, half a continent away, next to Ina. Ina, grown up and beautiful, with a sharp jaw, a sharp tongue, and more hard lines in her face than Kamelia anticipated, grey already beginning to streak in a shock of her hair at the front.
“You’re all right, though?” Ina says, jerking her chin at Kamelia’s hand. “They think about those things differently here. But Ferelden.”
“I’m all right,” Kamelia confirms. The sun is setting and the water glistens. Dockhands call to one another, various interruptions of crass epithets. The place pulses with life. Ina looks at home, and Kamelia wonders if this is why she stayed. “I met a teacher in the Fade. He taught me to think differently. More like here. But even before that…” She swallows. She can’t remember ever discussing blood magic this openly, not even with Daisy. But she is in Minrathous, she reminds herself, with her sister beside her. “It was not a ploy for power,” Kamelia continues. “I’ve never wanted power over anything, except perhaps a garden.”
Ina smiles at this and it makes Kamelia feel brave enough to continue.
“At first I only had the knowledge, but I didn’t use it. Then there were difficult battles, during the Fifth Blight, with blood mages. We could not go on. Deploying it was an act of desperation. It was a sacrifice.”
“Of yourself?”
Kamelia nods.
“But you lived.”
“There were other sacrifices made.”
“Yes,” Ina says, turning to face Kamelia now. “But you lived.” Kamelia stares at her sister for a moment, taking in the triumphant look on Ina’s face, and something hard set in her eyes too. She wonders how in the world Ina kept her magic hidden for all those years. If Kamelia thought she was an expert in holding herself back, what expertise must Ina have in making herself small?
“You’re a stronger person that me,” Ina confesses softly. “I would have gone back to that Circle and burned it all down. I would dance on my jailer’s graves.”
“I know you would,” Kamelia says, smiling, and a knowing look passes between the two women before they fall into silence again.
“Ina?”
“Hm?”
“I hope you did. Dance.”
Ina leans back on her elbows as the sun sinks into an orange and pink sky, blazing like the fire she unleashed in that magister’s house years ago. She smirks. “I’m still dancing.”
