Amazed was he to find himself in a forest, master-less in his mortal shell. And even more so was he intrigued when he stumbled upon traps so carefully set within said forest. Someone was hunting today, and Yan Qing saw no better opportunity to begin killing some indefinite amount of time than disguising as their game, like a true assassin would. So the helpless deer, sneering, ran headlong into rope laid along the forest floor.
Contentedness —almost complacency, even— bubbled up when he found himself suspended from a tree, hanging upside-down just as the hunter wanted. His eyes narrowed and smirk broadened whilst he scanned the floor, before musing aloud:
“Ho ho~... what’s this? Looks like I’ve been snared. I guess I really am good-for-nothing after all.” He shut his eyes before calling out (because he knew someone was there), “Well? Come let me down, would you? Or have you come to claim your prey?”
