Oh. This is... interesting. Wes blinked, looking down at the imp with clear confusion in his eyes before bringing his hands behind his own back, mirroring the other's position as he kept his ear on the mime's chest. What exactly was expecting to hear? A simple heartbeat? Something more?

The shadows always made sure to make him feel as if something was inside his chest. Something else, other than his organs and bones and plenty of more icky stuff, anyway. Not once he thought that someone could hear or feel anything in there, at least until then. Wortox was a being from the Constant, after all... maybe there was something?

Orrrrr maybe he was just overthinking this and the imp was pulling a very confusing prank.

The sight of the skull peering between the treeline made her breath catch in her throat, if not for a mere moment... She always forgot that this corner of the woods housed...

Well... Housed whatever was left of what once was Wortox. The skeleton contorted oddly, jaw pulled back in a silent scream long since concluded, clawbones flexed as if still grasping for salvation.

A butterfly flitted to and fro, as if indecisive on where to land, before perching atop the thing's skull. No sooner did it land did it stiffen oddly, jerking once or twice, before falling lifeless from its fatal perch.

every time i see wigfrid and willow or charlie (oh my GOD wigfrid and charlie) i start spinning around in circles and clicking my heels n shit. they're so delightful. And wigfrid and charlie are so uniquely insane i love seeing how crazy their interactions are every single time. i need to boil them in a stew.

Well, today was a bust. Partially so, anyway: while the giant, werepig-like creature that attacked the survivors was a very interesting specimen, one that managed to peak Wagstaff' curiosity enough to stay in the Constant through the entire illfated battle, losing so many resources was still rather troublesome.

Still, annoyances aside, he'd argue he gathered very precious informations.

As he paced around the attic, a notebook in his hands, a pencil he rhythmically tapped on his chin on the other, Wagstaff absent-mindedly kept on writing notes about the survivors currently in the Constant, pointing out which ones might be more valuable to bring to first complete, then test out the WARBOT project, and which one to keep as far away as possible from there - especially Woodrow. Or... WX-78, as mr.Higgsbury called them. Guess they decided to keep the name of their old prototype after all.

As admittedly fascinating as this turn of events was, and most importantly as surprising as it could be that the prototype actually managed to stay intact for so long - or, rather, managed to be either resurrected or rebuilt after falling, more likely -, unfortunately it was better to stay as far away as possible from them, and make sure that they won't make Higgsbury or miss Winona reconsider their collaborations. Maybe, he'll have to press them a little more to continue their work. Push aside anything else, including the option to return to work on the WX automatons ideas now that he was certain that even an unfinished version could work so well, and make sure that the few people he could consider useful stayed on his corner as long as he could.

A quick glance at the portal confirmed that all of them already managed to return to their base mostly in one piece, bringing a smile on his face. Good, good! Once they'll be done with all that, he'll try to approach them again.

"Yeah yeah, we could leave that thing alone."

That thing happened to be a very unfortunate Varg. Unfortunate for them, anyway: it's been ages since she last stumbled into one while hunting, and finding one while she was messing around with the imp rather than someone more interested in battles to the death was even worse.

thank youuu and dw i know rping is going. really in the last spot in the to do list rn </3 and to be fair its nothing BAD. like. i genuinely enjoy doing everything that i have to do rn, they're all very good and fun things. compared to a year ago with my shitty job from back then this is a good kind of stress. but i genuinely have 0 free days untilll. at least the begining on june, with plenty to do until late into it too

I think I might have already answered some of these for WX-78 before, but I can't remember, and my thoughts may have changed mildly, so I'll answer them anyhow.

≻ how does your muse handle competition ?

WX-78 doesn't handle competition well. They like feeling like the best, so if someone challenges them, they get hostile. But how hostile really depends on who they're up against. If it's someone they think is pathetic, lesser then them in most ways, or things of that like they're hostile in a mocking and cruel way. They make fun of the other person more than anything. If it's someone confident or someone who they see as an actual threat, then they're still mocking but tend to be way more outwardly hostile, if not somewhat violent, toward them.

≻ how does your muse handle losing control ?

Badly.

WX-78, as much as they may insist they're emotionless, is actually very emotional at times. Especially in the anger department. Their temper is both hot and short, which can lead to them having outbursts where they lose control.

Usually, if they lose control of their anger, I like to think they let off steam by doing what they do best. Committing acts of violence. They'll usually go off to kill some of the Constant's creatures to deal with it. However, they will just attack another survivor if they feel like it. But this typically will only happen if they're angry enough or if that particular person was the one annoying them / bugging them.

≻ what is your muse's most prized possession ?

This one is hard.

On one hand, in a conventional sense, I'd say it's Jimmy (WX-78's Bio-Scanner). Jimmy is very important to WX-78, both for what Jimmy can do to them and for them being attached to the bio-scanner.

But, in another sense, I'd say it's their empathy module. While not really a possession since that module is a part of their body, it's a very signficant part of their body. From what I recall of their lore, and presuming I didn't misinterpret it, their empathy module holds their memories of who they were before WX-78 and when they first became WX-78 (pre-Constant). This module better connects them with more of their emotions besides annoyance, anger, rage, and the likes. Which makes it important for them to keep to themself... but because they don't want those things reactivated. Being able to feel more is a weakness to them; it's disgusting.

≻ how does your muse react to change ?

Depends on the change.

If it's related to surviving in the Constant, they cope well. They're well-suited to surviving in the Constant already and are fine with dealing with the changes that it provides. These changes tend to be rather predictable for them after all.

If there are changes in their personal life, probably bad. WX-78 doesn't like it when things in their personal life change, such as how the other survivors they know are expected to act or new survivors showing up, since they thrive off predictability with them.

≻ how does your muse handle being ignored ?

Probably badly.

WX-78 is someone who likes having the last word, tormenting others, and just generally being a bother, so being ignored tends to get under their (metaphorical) skin. It'd make them angry to be ignored with no reaction, for any reason that they're being ignored, and would likely either make them avoid the other person in return or make them act physically bothersome in return to finally garner a reaction.
