she’s sprawled out in whatever meadow she’s found, still reeking of the underworld. it’s getting dark; she should head home, but she can’t pry herself off the ground long enough. the ground is the closest place to the underworld she can get, as if she might melt and flow through the cracks back down below. it’s the first time she’s wanted to be there in the longest time.
“appreciate it, flower girl.” she murmurs, and tucks her arms under her chin to prop her head up. it’s the most she can muster. “but you don’t gotta. ain’t no tellin’ if i’ll fall asleep, or when. afraid i’m real shit company at the moment.” her voice is real quiet, without it’s usual edge. “sorry.”
