Improvising as an Actor, Christchurch, New Zealand!
15th - 17th July Learnhow to effortlessly create instant relationships, compelling points of view, strong character choices, and exciting and natural scenarios.
Improvising as an Actor
Improvisation director/teacher/actor David Razowsky feels that âall improvisation is acting,â and has seen great changes when an âimproviserâ starts to think and act as an âactor who improvises.â This two and a half day workshop (1 evening + 2 days) is focused on getting the actor to become comfortable organically developing a character within a given set of circumstances. Actors will be taught how to effortlessly create instant relationships, compelling points of view, strong character choices, and exciting and natural scenarios. Actors who have worked with Razowsky calls his approach âcompelling,â âgratifying,â âsimple,â and âexciting.â Once youâre exposed to this, you wonât let go.
Bonus: Guided Performance
As part of the workshop there will be a guided improvisation performance on the Sunday evening. Â This is an unmissable opportunity to put what you have learned into action! Â
Performing in a show thatâs directed by David Razowsky is a special event, particularly when David directs you while you perform. His gentle, direct âside coachingâ has proven to benefit all improvisers whoâve joined him for these âGuided Improv Scenes.â The cast of actors will be lead through two-person scenes with David keeping the actors focused on their points-of-view, guiding them toward the âshiny objects,â following where the sceneâs heat is and where the scenic surprises live. All this with a live audience!
(Note: Participation in the performance is optional - but highly recommended!)
