βI am not Doctor Bashir and we are not sparring amiably over lunch!" - is a crazy line btw! odo is basically yelling i know what you are!
Lmao at Garak assuming the Boy Who Cried Wolf story ends with the boy successfully getting attention for his lie (clever lad! A charming story π) in the episode where he blows up his own shop for attention
DS9 3.20 β Improbable Cause
ODO: I'm not Doctor Bashir and we're not sparring amiably over lunch. You pulled me into this investigation and now you're going to cooperate.
I've been thinking about this line from "Improbable Cause" lately. It's just so good. Garak, with his amiable mask, trying his "Obsidian Order? 'Lil ole me? π―ππ" brand of bullshit with Odo, and Odo going full hard-nosed detective on him, pointing his finger at him and telling him, cut the shit, you got me into this, you're gonna stop playing games and start telling me the truth. And it's such a good moment for Odo; it shows he doesn't play, and it's nice to see Garak getting his scales ruffled a bit. It's also nice to see an in-universe acknowledgement of how Garak's been seen to interact with individuals aboard the station. Everybody who interacts with him has their own way of dealing with his persona, whether they choose to indulge it, delight in it, tolerate or ignore it, or take it to task. It's all so character-specific and character-driven.

3x20 - Improbable Cause
I realized that, taken out of context, this is a very relatable conversation
